Beckmen Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 2016 |
WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Dark chocolate covered raisins, blueberry reduction, blackberry jam, sweet dill, fennel frond, black pepper.
The Beckman family established their estate in the Santa Ynez Valley in 1994. The estate consists of two vineyards: the Beckman Estate in Santa Ynez and the Purisima Mountain Vineyard in Ballard Canyon. The Purisima Mountain Vineyard is certified Biodynamic and home to the estate's Rhône varietals, plus Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, planted on clay soils over a limestone subsoil. The Beckman Vineyard is planted mostly to Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Rhône grapes. All grapes are harvested at night and carefully sorted and selected before being allowed in to the winery. The same attention to detail practiced in the vineyards is also practiced in the cellar, with the result being some of the best wines in Santa Barbara County.
The Beckman Vineyards Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 100% Cabernet, picked from the finest blocks on the property. Deep ruby with purple highlights, the wine emits gorgeous aromas of cassis, vanilla, nutmeg and violets. On the palate there is great richness and depth of flavor with plenty of structure led by the ripe, silky tannins and moderate acidity. The finish is never-ending and complex, extremely inviting and friendly. Enjoy with char-grilled steak served with roasted potatoes.
