Based on 80% Grenache and 10% each of Syrah and Mourvedre, the 2020 Chateauneuf Du Pape Grande Reserve has lots of red and black fruits as well as notes of spring flowers, sappy garrigue, and Provençal herbs. This medium-bodied, elegant, yet structured beauty will evolve for 10-12 years. It’s well worth seeking out and a terrific wine. The aging here spanned 18 months mostly in old barrels, with 30% in stainless steel.
