The Domaine ''Les Granges'' dates back to the 12th century, when it was owned by the cysterciens monks of Abbaye of Vertheuils. At the time, it was a very large vinyard area of 230 hectares (568 acres) and it extended across five church parishes in the Médoc region. Les Granges des Domaines Edmond de Rothschild is a skillful blend of classic grape varieties of the region : Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The result is a full and supple wine.
The vineyard soil ranges from clay, to a cly-limestone mixture, to limestone and hard limestone. It is ready for drinking now ! Its fullness, finesse and elegance will deliver the perfect accompaniment to your most refined dinning.
