ALBA VINEYARDS ROSA |
Our Alba Rosa was the first "blush wine" to be produced in New Jersey back in 1984. We used the Marechal Foch grape (simply called Foch here) because when it is lightly pressed and fermented cool, it makes a wine with a delicious strawberry / raspberry character. Over twenty years later, we still make it the same way, except that we now blend the Foch with Cayuga White (a Pinot Blanc hybrid from Cornell University,) which contributes a delicious "peachy" flavor. Finished semi-dry, this wine is perfect just for sipping, or is great with a wide variety of foods if you prefer your wines "not-too-dry."
Light, dry and crisp, the Alba Rosa (translates to Pink Sunrise in Italian) is easy to drink and incredibly food friendly. Hints of Strawberry and honeydew melon are picked up upon hitting the palate with fresh flowers are apparent on the nose.
