Acumen Sauvignon Blanc 2016 |
Tasting Notes
This pleasing Sauvignon Blanc begins with a bouquet of citrus blossoms, lemon zest, honeysuckle, beeswax and jasmine. On the palate this medium-bodied wine continues with flavors of Buddha's hand, kumquat, and Meyer lemon along with notes of white peach, starfruit, pineapple rind, pastry cream, sweet hay and limestone. A fresh acidity frames the pure, clean finish of this pleasant Sauvignon Blanc.
2016 Vintage Notes
The near-perfect 2016 growing season started early, saw ideal weather conditions throughout and wrapped up as the valley's first significant fall rainstorm arrived on October 14th. Thanks to a relatively steady and mild July and August and then a series of warm days at the end of the growing season, our vineyards were able to progress to perfect ripeness. Wines from the 2016 vintage showcase classic Napa Valley qualities of fruit, acid, and tannin in perfect balance. Amazingly, this represents a streak of 5 consecutive vintages of excellent quality stretching back to 2012.
