The fruit comes from a selection of different Albariño vineyards from the Valle de O Salnés in Rías Baixas. Their seaside location, granitic soils and old vines give this wine its unique character. The fruit is hand-picked whole bunch fermented with indigenous yeast and aged for a year in stainless steel on its lees without malolactic or stirring, then bottled unclarified and unfiltered.
The 2018 69 Arrobas Albariño offers a fresh nose of lively citrus fruit, cut apple and a hint of toast, even though it hasn’t seen oak. The lime and green apple flavours carry on to its intense and generous palate, which shows the trademark character of saline ‘Atlantic’ acidity, leading to a long, clean finish.
