Robert Biale Vineyards is a Napa Valley family winery known above all for Zinfandel. Black Chicken is its signature wine, named after a code word the family used decades ago when customers phoned in orders for their homemade Zinfandel.
Napa Zinfandel is ripe, generous and full of personality. Expect dark berry and plum fruit, black pepper and spice, and a juicy, round palate. Biale's Zinfandels are bold but usually keep a fresh streak that makes them easy to drink. This is the half bottle.
The 375ml size is ideal for two people, or for trying the wine before buying a full bottle. Serve it slightly cool, around 60-62F. It's made for barbecue, burgers, pizza and spicy sausages. A fun bottle for a weeknight grill or a picnic.
