Villa Neri Montepulciano d'Abruzzo D.O.C. 2016 |
An exceptional example of the appellation! The wine spends time in stainless steel, allowing for a distinctive fruit forward character. The nose exhibits fig, berry, vanilla spice and oak. Very soft and smooth, the flavor veers towards fig and dark fruits with the berry element providing for the acidic counterpoint.
Here at Neri Wine Cellars, wine is our passion, and we believe there is always a perfect wine for every occasion. That’s why we take such pride in selecting wines of exceptional quality from all across the price spectrum. Each wine added to our growing collection has won its place by satisfying the quality we expect from all good wines.
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a red Italian wine made from the Montepulciano wine grape in the Abruzzo region of east-central Italy. The wine was classified as Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC) in 1968 with a separate Denominazione di origine controllata e Garantita (DOCG) for wine produced around Teramo established in 1995 and promoted in 2003 (where it is officially called Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane). In addition to Montepulciano, up to 15% Sangiovese is also permitted to be added to the blend. It is typically a dry wine with soft tannins that is often consumed young.
