DESCRIPTION
• Blanco tequila produced in Amatitán, Jalisco (NOM 1477) • Maestro Tequilero Alberto Partida • 100% Azul aka Blue Weber (Agave tequilana) • Single estate agave (current batches are from the fields El Novillero and Las Rosas) • Cooked in a traditional, mesquite-wood-fired stone oven (without steam) • Milled using an automated tahona (traditional stone wheel mill) • Fermented with fibers (bagasse) in open air wood tanks (tinas), using spring water & ambient yeast • Distilled in historical wood-fired copper pot stills from the 19th century • Prominent aromas of mesquite, burnt marshmallow, and lemon zest are bolstered on the palate by dried oregano, star anise, menthol, dried cherry, grilled pineapple, peanut shell, and fresh seaweed • Verified additive free by Tequila Matchmaker • 49% ABV Delving even deeper into the roots of tequila’s early production, Amatiteña ‘Origen’ offers an example of their historical, estate-grown tequila at a notably higher (and more traditional) ABV than their core blanco, leaping up from a sturdy 42% to a racy 49%.
