Telmont is a Champagne house in Damery, in the Marne valley, founded in 1912. It has committed to organic farming across its own vineyards and its growers' vineyards, and it supports its partner growers through the conversion, with a target of 2031 for all of them. Reserve de la Terre is the house's organic Champagne, made only from organically farmed grapes.
Recent releases have been low in sugar, so it drinks dry, fresh and precise, with fine bubbles. The reason to choose this bottle is the farming behind it. At this price it is one of the easier ways to put an organic Champagne on the table.
Serve it well chilled, around 45-48F, in a white wine glass or tulip so the aromas come through. It is good with oysters, sushi, fried chicken, salty cheeses or a bowl of potato chips.
