Studert-Prum Riesling Spatlese Wehlener Sonnenuhr 2014

Twelve generations of the Studert-Prüm family have been vintners in the village of Wehlen on the Mosel. The current site of the estate – Maximinhof – was acquired in 1805 and, after the merger with the Weingut Peter Prüm, the weingut was renamed Studert-Prüm - Maximinhof.

The Studert family, Gerhard and his brother, Stephan, manage the property and vineyards in the middle Mosel's best sites, which include Graacher Himmelreich and Wehlener Sonnenuhr. About 80% of the Riesling is planted on original rootstock.

Stephan, along with his son, Michael, tends to the cellar using traditional winemaking methods enhanced with modern practices. The wines are made, in large part using spontaneous - natural yeast – fermentation. The wines are age-worthy and offer the classic raciness, minerality, depth and balance synonymous with middle Mosel Riesling.
