• Small batch straight bourbon whiskey produced by Nashville Barrel Company under the Nashtucky Whiskey Co. label in Nashville, Tennessee • Aged and bottled by Nashville Barrel Company • Distilled at an undisclosed Kentucky distillery from a mash bill of 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley • Aged 5–12 years (age statement may vary batch to batch); at least half of the aging took place in Kentucky • A nose of sweet vanilla bean opens onto rich notes of caramel and oak and a long, spicy finish • Non-chill filtered; bottled at cask strength (ABV varies from batch to batch; typically 55–60%) Slightly higher temperatures and location within the warehouse affect angel’s share, and while only a few hundred miles separate whiskey country in Kentucky and Nashville, there’s enough climatic difference to impact the barrels Nashtucky selects and further ages. Nowhere is that more evident than in this high-rye Bluegrass beauty whose proof—as with all great cask strength whiskeys—belies a respectable but modest age statement, thus revealing the magic of the bottler’s selection and influence.
