Sterling Vineyards Red Blend West Coast 2016 |
Sterling Vineyards, one of Napa Valley’s premier winery destinations, offers an array of distinct and beautifully crafted wines from its home appellation. The Sterling Vineyards Napa Valley wines show the depth, strength and incredible quality representative of California’s most famous wine region. The grapes for Sterling Vineyards Napa Valley wines are grown in 14 diverse and premium vineyards throughout the valley—from the cool southern Carneros region to the warm and rugged northernmost reaches of the valley near Calistoga. These incredible vineyards give Winemaker Harry Hansen some of the best Napa Valley fruit to select from and craft these unique, intensely flavored and expressive wines.
The Sterling West Coast Red Blend is focused, contemporary and a wine that enhances great conversation. Lush strawberry and generous cherry flavors lead into silky and smooth tannins.
The grapes were picked at optimum ripeness and sent directly to the winery. Once in the winery, the grapes were cold soaked for two days followed by fermentation. The different varieties and lots were kept separate through the fermentation process and only came together at the final stage when the winemaker assembled the final blend before bottling. The wine was aged for ten months in a combination of French and American oak to integrate flavors and soften tannins. The final blend includes Petite Sirah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Malbec and Petit Verdot.
