This Chardonnay comes from Shafer's Carneros estate vineyard, known for cool breezes and clay soils ideal for producing vibrant, high-acid Chardonnay. Red Shoulder Ranch is fermented in a combination of new oak and stainless steel, and undergoes no malolactic fermentation-retaining crispness while gaining richness from lees stirring. Flavors include lemon curd, white peach, honey, vanilla, and delicate minerality.
