Prepared according to the old recipes of our founder Simon Rutte. This jenever is distilled from grains, herbs and juniper berries. Nuts are also a crucial element in its composition. Quite delicious and perfect for both the male and female palate. The nuts are first roasted before being added to the still along with the herbs.Appearance: Light yellow and clear.Aroma: Subtle aroma, light scent of grain and herbs, hint of hazelnut.Flavor:Light, nutty, pleasant, velvety aftertaste.Why not try an ice-cold Oude Simon with Coca-Cola and lemon or lime juice… A delicious summer cocktail!Did you know that: When they are distilling Oude Simon at Rutte, a wonderful aroma drifts across the town of Dordrecht….. The fabulous smell when the nuts are being roasted has been known to attract passers-by in off the streets.

Rutte Genever Old Simon 0 750ml

This is the best "oude Jenever" (Old Dutch Gin) in it's class. The right way to truly enjoy this wonderfully balanced, excellent Jenever is cold (store it in the freezer), by the sip, linger in your mouth for a bit. Do not add ice or anything else! It just takes away from the aroma and taste. Being a Dutchman I know my Jenevers and truly consider this the best one out there. Rutte&Zn never disappoint. If you like a good highland scotch you will appreciate this jenever. It's wonderfully smooth with a very specific yet subtle taste and, very important, no caramel/sweetness. Try it, You will not regret it! The note that suggests mixing it with Coca Cola is beyond me. If you need alcohol in your sugarwater just about any cheap crap will do. What a silly, wasteful suggestion!
