• Variety: Riesling • Region: Pfalz • Vineyard: Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad • Soil Type: Sandy loam, red sandstone, marl lime, and loess • Fermentation & Élevage: Spontaneous fermentation in 500L barrels, left on the gross lees for 12 months\n\nRuppertsberger Reiterpfad:\nThe name derives from ancient Romans who with their legions and cavalry passed through this area (Reiter = rider; Pfad = path). Reiterpfad is located at the foot of the Haardt in Ruppertsberg. With sandstone and some limestone in the soil, it is one of von Winning's best premier crus. Completely fermented in oak and aged on the lees for one year.
