A roundness and sweetness are undeniable, and presumably from the desired effect of the finishing process. The marriage of French Oak, Brandy, and Bourbon, are right up our favorite tasting alley. These extra variables give added layers to an already mature tasting bourbon. The high rye content is welcome in this mash bill, to provide balance to what could have easily became a run away sweet bomb. Instead, we’re left with a complex, fat, round, sweet, spicy, chewy bourbon.
