Experience Quintessa Napa Valley Red Blend 2023, an exceptional expression of Rutherford terroir that brings together power, elegance, and remarkable precision. Crafted by winemaker Rebekah Wineburg, this highly acclaimed vintage showcases the distinctive mineral character of the Rutherford AVA alongside beautifully pure, concentrated fruit.
The blend is composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 2% Carménère, 2% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot. After 20 days of maceration, the wine was aged for 22 months, primarily in French oak with 60% new barrels, alongside a portion matured in terracotta amphora. The result is a richly layered wine with cassis, blackberry, violet, graphite, tobacco, dark chocolate, and subtle dried herbs, supported by bright acidity and exceptionally fine, polished tannins.
With an outstanding collection of scores including 99 points from both Decanter and James Suckling, 98 from Wine Enthusiast, 96+ from Jeb Dunnuck, and 95 from Wine Spectator, Quintessa 2023 stands among the most impressive Napa Valley releases of its vintage. Elegant and structured for long-term development, it can be enjoyed now with decanting or cellared to reveal even greater complexity over the years.
