Prosper Maufoux Chablis 2016

A creamy, toasty style of Chablis, this is smooth while still keeping a touch of steely acidity. The wine is ripe and open.

Nose of baked apple, pear, straw, pineapple and a suggestion of struck match/gunpowder (which will fade with air). The taste is crisp and zesty, but not overly acidic as I thought it might be. The texture is pretty soft, in a good way. Quite a difficult balancing act, I think; crisp/zest vs soft and supple.
