Pahlmeyer built its name on rich, full Napa Chardonnay and has not moved from it. Honeysuckle, orange blossom and preserved lemon on the nose, then tangerine, apricot and grilled peach, with toasted almond and a flinty note underneath. Full and creamy but held together by mouthwatering acidity and a saline core. The finish runs long on almond pastry and citrus zest.
