A blend of grenache, carignan, Mourvedre and syrah, it succeeds in the style by backing that fruit with firm, nutty tannins to balance the sweetness. Currants, black raspberries, spices and chocolate all emerge from this rich, supple, beautifully textured effort that has classic Maury flair.
