Dan and Donna Lee bought and planted the Double L in 1996 at the northern end of the Santa Lucia Highlands, naming it Double Luck after their twin daughters. In 2001 it became the first certified organic property in the AVA, and it now carries Real Organic certification as well. Forty-eight planted acres, twenty clones on eight rootstocks. This and the Double L Chardonnay are the estate's flagships.
