Ferraton Père & Fils Montmains Cote Rotie Lieu-Dit Rouge 2017

Inky ruby color. A highly perfumed nose evokes an array of dark berries, cherry and pungent flowers, along with suggestions of game and earth. Sweet cherry and cassis flavors show impressive energy, and the gamy quality strengthens with air. Finishes on a subtle tannic note, with building sweetness and lingering suggestions of candied violet and smoked meat.

This is a wild one, for sure, but it works for me. I'd serve it with, well, game. Or at least a funky, dry-aged steak. It would also be great with cabrito tacos or cabrito mole rojo.
