Laurent Ponsot Bourgogne Blanc 2017

Pale and rather neutral whitish-green color. Very fresh and youthful nose with aromas of tart green apples, some pear, a little bit of lactic yogurt character, light fragrant floral tones of white flowers, a hint of sappy herbal greenness and a touch of white peach. The wine is crisp, lively and youthful on the palate with medium body and quite straightforward primary flavors of tart green apples, some pear drops, a little bit of steely minerality and a hint of white peach.

The high acidity lends wonderful freshness and intensity to the wine. The finish is fresh, rather neutral and medium in length with flavors of fresh apples, some lactic tones, a little bit of chalky minerality, a hint of ripe citrus fruits and a touch of white peach.

A nice, fresh and precise Bourgogne Blanc. Enjoyably crisp, high acidity here, but otherwise the wine feels pretty straightforward with quite linear fruit profile and very little complexity.
