Hanson of Sonoma is a family distillery in Sonoma County that makes its vodka from grapes rather than grain, using organic, sustainable farming. This is its espresso-flavored vodka, made in small batches and bottled by hand.
Expect real coffee aroma, roasted and slightly bitter, over a smooth, clean vodka base. It tastes like coffee, not like candy. Because the base is grape vodka, it has a slightly rounder, softer texture than most flavored vodkas.
It is the obvious choice for an espresso martini: vodka, a shot of espresso and a little coffee liqueur, shaken hard with ice. It is also good over ice with cream, or with cold brew and tonic. A fun gift for coffee lovers.
