Groth Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5 Liter Magnum) 2012 |
95 points James Suckling
This is very classy with mineral, black currant and spice character. Shows chili and Thai basil too. Full body, firm tannins and a bright and persistent finish. Extremely long and elegant. Best ever from here in years? (7/2015)

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a very pretty, mid-weight wine. Eucalyptus, mint, rose petal and bright red berry are pushed forward in an attractive, mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon built on class. The tannins are still a bit sinewy, so a few more years in bottle will only be beneficial. Today, it is the wine’s brightness and freshness that are most impressive. This is a very pretty, understated Cabernet Sauvignon that will appeal most to classically leaning palates. (AG) (8/2016)

Sourced from the producer's Reserve Block and blended with 10% Merlot from its Hillview vineyard, this is classic Oakville Cabernet, velvety on the palate and spicy in cinnamon and clove on the nose. Blackberry, dried herb and baked cherry-plum pie all play a part in providing it with richness and complexity. *Cellar Selection* (VB) (3/2016)

There's lots to admire in this firm, rich Cabernet, with blackberry and blueberry flavors and hints of lead pencil and graphite. The gritty, edgy tannins stand out. (JL) (10/2015)
