Grand Marnier Cuvée Louis Alexandre is a premium orange liqueur named for Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle. In 1880, he's said to have come up with the idea to blend a cognac with an orange liqueur, turning that concept into a huge success eventually named Grand Marnier.
Candied orange peel and tart cherries combine on the nose suggesting a brandy Old Fashioned. There's also a candy bar effect—chocolate-covered almonds and nougat. The palate is light and syrupy, growing richer towards the back, with sugar-coated grapes, vanilla taffy, and a slight hit of tannins. The finish offers a lingering sweetness with an orange Champagne marmalade, a signature Grand Marnier note.
