Gran Patron Smoky is made from highest-quality 100% Weber Blue Agave hand-harvested and roasted with mesquite for seven days in small underground stone pits at the Patr�n Hacienda distillery in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.The roasted heart of the agave plant is then slowly crushed with a volcanic stone tahona wheel. The resulting juice and agave fibers are then placed in pine fermentation tanks before being distilled in small-capacity copper pot stills and bottled at 101 proof.The finished Gran Patron Smoky Tequila is characterized by its nose of artichoke, pepper, spices, and hints of sweet citrus. This is followed by a smooth and sweet taste with very distinctive notes of smoked agave and citrus shored up by a long peppery finish.
