El Tinieblo Joven is produced using traditional methods by mezcalero Don Baltazar Cruz in the state of Tamaulipas. The agaves are cooked in an earthen pit, crushed with a tahona, and the fermented in open air wooden vats.
Next, the spirit is doubled-distilled in copper stills and adjusted to a final ABV of 40%.
