Earthquake is a big, bold Zinfandel from Michael David Winery in Lodi, California. Lodi is known for old Zinfandel vines, and the name tells you what kind of wine to expect.
It's a powerful, ripe style. Expect jammy blackberry, plum and black cherry, with pepper, spice and vanilla, and a full, rich body. It's not subtle, and that's the point.
Serve it around 60-64F. It's made for barbecue ribs, brisket, pulled pork, burgers and pepperoni pizza. A great bottle for anyone who likes their red wine big and generous. Michael David is the Phillips family winery, and they have been farming in Lodi for generations. Don't serve it too warm; a short spell in the fridge keeps the fruit lively.
