Domaine de l'Hortus Bergerie Classique Pic Saint Loup Rouge 2020

This wine is a blend of wines from the Domaine de l'Hortus vineyards with a selection of wines from the winegrowers who are friends of this estate within the AOP, sharing the same high standards of vine cultivation and winemaking as the Orliac family.

As the plots are situated at the bottom of the slope, with less marked exposure than those of the middle slopes of these domains, the grapes mature later than those of the great Domaine de l'Hortus vintage. What is more, these plots have soils formed on shallower limestone scree. The vines are therefore more sensitive to summer drought.

The ripeness of the grapes from these plots requires a very fine work in the cellar, with relatively short macerations and maturation.

The result is a fruity, fleshy, full-bodied and relatively easy red wine that will delight all red wine lovers.
