DESCRIPTION
Damilano is one of the old family names of Barolo, in Piedmont. Lecinquevigne means five vineyards, and this Barolo is a blend from several sites across the area rather than a single cru.
It's Nebbiolo, and blending sites makes for a balanced, approachable Barolo. Expect red cherry, raspberry and dried rose, with hints of licorice and spice, and firm but polished tannins. It's young, so it rewards a little patience.
Decant it for an hour and serve around 62-65F in a large glass. It's great with braised beef, truffle pasta, roast lamb or aged Parmigiano. A dependable Barolo for dinner parties and gifts, and one that will keep in the cellar for a decade.
