Like all the wines of Cosse et Maisonneuve, La Fage comes from 7.4 acres of vineyards located on the 3rd terrace above the Lot river. The 3rd terrace is generally regarded as the best terroir for Malbec in the Cahors appellation. La Fage is from the younger vines of the estate which are situated higher on the hillside from the Le Combal parcels.

100% fermented in stainless steel tank with gentle pumping over during cuvaison. After fermentation, the wine is moved to one and two year old oak barrels. The wine ages for 15 to 18 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

The resulting wine is concentrated with firm tannins. On the nose and on the palate, this wine shows notes of fruit, violet and wood.
