This is Hennessy X.O in its 2025 end-of-year gift box. The cognac inside is the same X.O, the blend Maurice Hennessy created in 1870 and the one that gave every other house the "Extra Old" name. The box is the seasonal part, and it is why this one sells out every December.
Expect what X.O always delivers: a big, dark cognac with dried fig and raisin on the nose, then toffee, cocoa and candied orange, and a long, spiced finish with real grip. It reads as weight rather than sweetness.
Serve it neat in a tulip glass at room temperature, or with one large ice cube on a warm night. Good after dinner with dark chocolate. Since it comes ready to give, it is the easy answer for a boss, a host or anyone who already drinks Hennessy. Once the edition is gone, it's gone.
