DESCRIPTION
One of the oldest estates in Pomerol, Merlot led as the appellation always is. Deep garnet purple, with baked black cherry, blackberry preserve and boysenberry, then underbrush, pencil lead and cedar. Full bodied with an unctuous texture and a fine chewy tannin structure, savoury rather than sweet on the finish. James Suckling gave the 2018 97 points. Worth waiting on until 2025 and beyond.
