This vintage in Pomerol, as a whole, is considered brilliant, with opulent, rich wines showcasing impressive depth that will allow them to cellar for the next several decades. A mostly mild, perhaps even balmy winter followed by a warm and consistent summer with cool evenings and two bouts of rain that helped rehydrate the vines, and a late September to October harvest allowed the grapes plenty of time to mature, ripen, and develop a whole slew of complexities.
