Tasting notes:
The 2015 Chapelle de Potensac is a blend of 71% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, matured in 10% new oak. It has a perfumed bouquet with blackberry, raspberry coulis and cold stone scents, powered by that ripe Merlot. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly edgy, grainy tannin, a keen line of acidity and an attractive, cedar-infused finish. Enjoy this deuxième vin over the next 6-8 years.
This is an attractive, mid-weight wine best suited to near and medium-term drinking. Dark red cherry, plum, spice, menthol and hard candy add nuance on the expressive, salivating finish. This is very pretty, if a bit compact
The second wine from Potensac is based on its great fruit. It offers black currants, acidity and a warm, ripe character from the Merlot that dominates this wine. It is juicy, spicy and has a crisp fresh aftertaste.
