DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
Charmes is the largest and best known of the Meursault premier crus, on the Puligny side of the village where the slope flattens out. The Chateau de Meursault bottling gives hazelnut, acacia blossom and white orchard fruit with a light frame of oak, then a firmer acid spine than the name suggests. Concentrated, serious and austere while young. It will drink for twelve to fifteen years.
