DESCRIPTION
Château d'Yquem is the most famous sweet wine in the world, and the only Sauternes ranked Premier Cru Supérieur in the 1855 classification. It's made from Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes picked berry by berry once noble rot has concentrated them.
Expect the Yquem signature: apricot, candied citrus, honey and exotic fruit, with a rich, silky texture and enough acidity to keep it fresh rather than cloying. Young Yquem is all fruit and vibrancy, and it gains depth for decades.
This half bottle is the right size for dessert with four to six people. Serve it chilled, around 50F, in small white wine glasses. Foie gras, blue cheese, fruit tarts or simply on its own. It's also a memorable gift that will keep for a very long time.
