DESCRIPTION
Lynch-Bages is a Pauillac estate, and Pauillac has no white appellation, so this is bottled as Bordeaux Blanc. It's a small production next to the estate's famous red, and worth seeking out.
Sauvignon Blanc leads, with Sémillon and a little Muscadelle. White peach, pear and lemon curd, with lime blossom, wet pebble and wild thyme. Light to medium bodied and zippy, with chalky layers and a fresh finish. This is the 2024.
Serve it chilled but not icy, around 50F, in a white wine glass. It's lovely with oysters, grilled fish, goat cheese or a herby chicken dish. A good bottle for anyone who loves Sancerre and wants to see what Bordeaux does with the same grape.
