• 100% Sangiovese from 2 historical vineyards in northern Montalcino: Vigna Casanuova delle Cerbaie (2.5 hectares) next to the estate and Vigna Casato (6 hectares) 2km north of the winery. • In the years where Brunello Riserva is not produced, fruit from their prized Montosoli vineyard is also included in their Brunello classico bottling • 250-300 meters above sea level on land dating back to the Eocene period characterized by calcareous, marl, argillaceous and conglomerate rocks • Vines planted with south-west exposition • Manual selection of the grapes • Intense extraction with frequent pumping over, followed by long maceration on the skins • Aged 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels selected by Stockinger, and 4 months in bottle • Approximately 3000 cases are produced each year
