• Blend of straight bourbon whiskeys blended and bottled by Barrell Craft Spirits in Louisville, Kentucky • Derived mash bill of 73% corn, 23% rye, and 4% malted barley • Minimum 5 years old • Composed of Kentucky bourbon aged 8 years, Indiana bourbon aged 5, 6, and 9 years, Tennessee bourbon aged 8 years, and Maryland bourbon aged 5 and 6 years • Secondary maturation in freshly toasted new American oak • Aromas of caramel, milk chocolate, honey-roasted almonds, and baking spice lead to a warm and creamy palate of orange sponge cake, lightly roasted coffee, toasted marshmallow, walnuts, and white pepper with a finish of cinnamon, vanilla, and orange zest • Non-chill filtered; 50% ABV The second release in Barrell Craft Spirits’ Foundation series, Foundation Double Barrell sees secondary maturation, known as “double-oaking” or “double-barreling” in new American oak that has been toasted rather than charred. This second phase of aging cultivates notes of dark chocolate and dried fruit while softening and deepening the finish for a compelling sipper or cocktailing ingredient.
