• Banana liqueur produced by Giffard in Angers, France • Base spirit distilled from sugar beets • Plump, sun-ripened Brazilian bananas are slowly infused in neutral spirit and then blended with a spirit distilled from bananas • A touch of oak-aged Cognac is incorporated to add further complexity • Sweetened with sugar beet sugar • A nose of ripe banana with warming baking spices and heady tropical notes leads to a palate of creamy banana, redolent of butter mixed with Cognac, vanilla, and ginger • 25% ABV Giffard’s Banane du Brésil is a luscious banana liqueur that notably shies away from the artificial, candied notes typical of the category, leaning instead into the rich bass notes of ripe bananas. It pairs particularly well with aged spirits in stirred drinks in addition to its more intuitive tropical applications.
