Armand de Brignac is the Champagne in the metallic "Ace of Spades" bottle, made by the Cattier family in the Montagne de Reims. The Demi-Sec is the sweeter member of the range, and this one comes in a wooden presentation box.
Demi-sec means a higher dosage than Brut, so expect a rounder, softer Champagne with ripe fruit and a gentle sweetness balanced by fresh acidity. It's not a dessert wine. Think of it as Champagne with the edges smoothed off.
Serve it well chilled, around 45F. It shines with fruit tarts, wedding cake, crème brûlée or a cheese plate with blue cheese, and it also works with spicy food where a dry Brut would taste thin. The box makes it a ready-made gift for a wedding, anniversary or big celebration.
