Alois Lageder Pinot Bianco Haberle 2019 |
The Haberle bottling is Pinot Bianco from two different sites within the Alto Adige. The grapes come partly from the Haberlehof in Pochi on the eastern side of the Adige Valley and partly from sites on the western side in Penone above the winery in Magrè, and the soils are a combination of stony, sand with limestone. The vines range in age between 21-49 years old. After harvest, the grapes are gently pressed followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and maturation for approximately 9 months on the lees. The aging period occurs partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in large casks.
Aromatically the wine has notes of fresh, leafy herbs, subtle tropical fruits, flowers, and orchard fruits. On the palate the wine has bright, salty acidity with juicy peaches, white stones, and fresh mint.
