James Suckling 92 points - A very fresh and spicy nose with plenty of brambleberries, violets, baking spices, vanilla and cloves. Full body, tight yet velvety tannins, no shortage of plummy fruit and a fresh yet long finish. Drink now..March/2018

Vinous 89 points - (13% alcohol): Dark red. Aromas of redcurrant, tobacco leaf, licorice, herbs and menthol; I would have guessed this wine had some Cabernet in it. The richest of these 2017 Alamos releases but in a distinctly European style. Boasts lovely give and generosity of texture and comes across as dry in spite of its 2.8 grams per liter of residual sugar. Finishes with nicely supported tannins and very good length. This makes the Red Blend seem a bit herbal and dry by comparison. A remarkable value..July/2018

Wine Advocate 90 points - The 2016 Alamos Seleccion Malbec shows some more concentration and a deeper color than its siblings. It’s pure Malbec from different vineyards in the Valle de Uco, a zone that saw a cool and wet season in which the vines behaved quite well. The palate reveals some grainy tannins that would welcome some food. 480,000 bottles produced..June/2018

Alamos is the number one Argentinean exported brand. In the last few years, they have lowered the oak in search of drinkable wines that do not pretend to have great complexity but rather provide drinking pleasure. - Luis Gutierrez, 237, The Wine Advocate, 29th Jun 2018
