DESCRIPTION
The Krone vineyard lies near Laubenheim next to Tesch's Löhrer berg vines. Geographical proximity is, however, pretty much all these two vineyards share. The steep southeast slope of the Krone is characterized by a mix of light and coarse soils from decalcified loess and weathered sandstone with a high quartz content.
This is a very dry site and the lack of water stresses the vines. Expressive Riesling, aromatic with lemon peel and flowers, zippy with grapefruit and surprisingly rich on the finish.
