DESCRIPTION
This is Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label dressed up in the Sun Totem, the collectible summer design from artist Yinka Ilori. It's a limited package, so it's the same Champagne in a gift that looks like more effort than it was.
Inside is the non-vintage Brut the house has built its name on since 1772, made in Champagne by the traditional method and aged for balance. Pinot Noir leads, which gives it weight. Expect orchard fruit, citrus, brioche and a touch of toast, with fine bubbles and a fresh finish. Dry, but not austere.
Serve it cold, around 45F, in a tulip glass if you have one. Good with oysters, sushi, fried chicken or salty snacks, or on its own as the first glass of the evening. It works for birthdays, housewarmings and summer parties, and the Sun Totem is the part people keep.
