VAT 69 is a famous old brand of blended whisky, chosen by Sir Ernest Shackleton to accompany him on his Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914 'for medicinal and celebratory purposes', and also famously the favourite whisky of Captain Lewis Nixon of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, immortalised in the book and TV series Band of Brothers.

Convinient way to shop for "hard to find" liquors
Found this hard to find whiskey on Wine Chateau. They were able to deliver it to me. Shipping was ground but delivered reasonably fast. One issue; I ordered Vat 69 and received Vat 69 Gold. Not a really bother, it still tastes great, maybe even better than the regular Vat. Yet, I wonder where the mix up was? Either way, I will definitely order from them again. Great service, recommend it!
