The very long and warm summer gave this Chardonnay its opulent fruit character balanced by a lively streak of acidity. Harmonious layers of ripe pineapple, tangerine, Fuji apple, white flower and Meyer lemon fill the aromas and expansive flavors.
An impression of liquid minerals develops mid-palate, just before the flavors turn toasty and creamy on the lingering finish. The wine’s integrated oak notes come from barrel fermentation, while its silky texture developed during sur lie aging.
While elegant to sip by itself, our Chardonnay’s rich, yet crisp, flavors are delightful with many foods. Winemaker Reggie Hammond suggests enjoying this wine with chicken fettuccine, poached salmon with creamy tarragon sauce, and grilled prawns over a salad of fresh, baby lettuces and vine-ripened tomatoes.
